If your organization is interested in applying for grants but no one has
time to research the program, assemble the required documents, attend workshops, and
write detailed narratives, consider hiring a grant writer.
Grants such as the Department of Homeland Security's
Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG), Staffing for Adequate Fire
and Emergency Response (SAFER), Fire Prevention and Safety Grants (FP&S) are
available at specific times through the year and have short application windows,
making them harder for a part-time grant writer to administer. TECsprt offers
full-time availability, 24-7 phone and email availability with messages returned
within a day,
and a grant writer familiar with the fire service and small municipality operations.
Next Deadline: 2007 AFG grants are only available during March!
This year, you may apply for a vehicle as well as other equipment, gear,
training, etc.
Area served:
TECsprt is currently seeking grant writing clients primarily in locations
between the Wichita, KS and Kansas City metro areas.
This limitation is designed to allow a grantwriter to visit the client's location
to help gather information for the grant administration and to learn about the
department and area before writing grant narratives.
Offsite assistance is also available at a reduced fee. Services include
grant location, narrative assistance, editing, and proofreading.

Fee estimation:
Because many programs require
that grant writers be paid before the application is submitted, a sliding
scale can be used based on your department budget.
Maximum fees will not exceed 5% of the
requested grant. For example, if you request $10,000 in bunker or turnout gear,
our fee will be under $500. This includes grant package completion,
assistance in collection of the required verification information, travel, and
administrative expenses.
Alternately, proofreading and correction of your completed
grant package starts at $50 and includes recommendations for meeting any unmet
criteria.
